Synopsis 14 Blades
During the late Ming Dynasty, the Chinese imperial court is rife with corruption as eunuchs seize power and the emperor is weak. The Jinyi Wei, an elite secret police force, trained from childhood for clandestine combat, is responsible for maintaining stability within the empire. Originally loyal only to the emperor, they now fall under the control of the eunuch faction. The chief eunuch, Jia Jing Zhong, conspires with the exiled Prince Qing to overthrow the emperor. Jia orders Qing Long, the Jinyi Wei chief, to assassinate Imperial Councilor Zhao Shen Yan and retrieve a safebox containing a list of traitors.
